I think the effort that this would involve - well, it would be hard. And the outcome - well, there are thousands of us hungry folks out there (swarming on dubious HITS).

But - I still support it. I think anything that can be done to unite folks and, perhaps - strongly 'not recommending' a particular HIT (Based on poor pay) - is a good thing. Many people would follow along with the recommendation (TO does this, to some small extent). Those that do the HIT anyway, well, that's not quite the point. It's more that requesters know that there is a cohesive group on mturk that DO watch and track (and recommend) based on pay.

I would think to start this convo you'd have to find a way to start a conversation between boards (and with folks on TO).
I'd join in :)
You said it "HARD." Here a saying I often hear and I remember (this saying is from we were starting the organization at school, professors would always say it.)

"If it were easy, than EVERYONE could do it!"

Everyone is hungry. Shit. I'm losing money here in talking to you and conversing with many of you here. Why do I do it? If we work TOGETHER, we would have made MORE PROGRESS than ANY PROGRESS for a HIGHER PAY RATE since Mturk was first launched.

THIS IS THE START. SUPPORT!

I REALLY THINK TO HURTS THE MTURK WORKERS MORE THAN HELP. However, that's a whole another topic that needs a separate or more time to discuss.

Also, last I remember their was suppose to be a revamp of a TO. I haven't heard any new updates. I only remember the email a few months ago with a small survey from TO admins looking for feedback.

Some thoughts: I'm willing to work collectively. However, I can't do this alone. If anyone is considering or would love to discuss, participate, has ideas, etc, send me a PM.

This makes no sense to me. "I don't mind being paid crap cause I'm just doing this for lunch money."

(I'm not saying this at you I'm just grouching with your quote)
It's usually because they don't see it as a job or as work and so it doesn't even enter into their mind as something that one should be paid "fairly" for or that "fair pay" is even a concern. Think about how many people do Swagbucks and are happy with whatever they're happy to rack up for points. Are they mathing out whether or not their Swagbucks efforts are "minimum wage"? Probably not. It's just not even a thought. So for people coming to MTurk with that kind of mindset, hearing people talk about "fair pay" and "minimum wage" is really weird.

I do that on every day, though. Which means that such batches don't show up on weekends at a high enough frequency to overlap, which is what usually leads to good days. And this is even with me having cheating horseshit masters nonsense VSR on Saturdays.
Yea I guess your experience is going to be different than most on the weekend then.
For me though, if I can get HM to alert me to something delicious and make $50 in 2 hours then I'll consider that a damn good day on the weekend.

/me prays for weekend X8

The survey results were posted in July. https://turkopticon.ucsd.edu/2016survey/

I don't keep up on TO updates, but the last I knew, not a lot has happened because they don't have any paid staff, and volunteers can only do so much and only have so much time.

Also as a heads up, if you get the PRE inside the HIT frame you can reload the frame and submit the HIT.

neat little trick I figured out like, last week.

I was defining good as a standard deviation above average daily earnings. So that's a tough climb for weekends, since I make half what I do on weekdays, on average.
