Went through the same thing, school did nothing and the bullying got worse :( Luckily my parents were cool and jumped through hoops to let me switch to a new high school. I actually made friends and was nominated for the schools princess BS. I never trusted it or anyone though because of the prior bullying. I was always waiting for something bad to happen. It really messes you up.
Bullying is so unfortunate. My parents didn't know how to handle it, really. Dad sat me down once and told me to "get over it." But bullying isn't easy to just "get over" when it impacts so many things in a child's psychology. We had only one high school where I lived so there was no options for switching, unfortunately. The schools now take bullying far more seriously now but it was like pulling teeth to get anyone to care back then lol. I'm sorry you had to go through that, though :( Bullying sucks all around and despite what many people think, it definitely can go into adulthood too.

Shit, I was bullied up throughout highschool until I decided to quit giving a damn about punishment and beat the fuck out of anyone who tried to start something. Probably not the best course of action, but it beat the thought of hating or harming myself. Bullying is a bitch, and I still think that it affects me to this day. Because of that I feel I don't apply myself as well, nor do I have the courage to stand up for something.
I actually had a lot of bullying in high school too, but it stopped when I involved the cops. I felt a lot of conflict because my dad was the one telling me to beat them up and my mom told me to "be the better person and turn the other cheek." Sometimes I wish I would've just clobbered one of them though. Being subjected to bullying is not something I'd wish on anyone. :hug:And I feel you completely. I am trying to be more "assertive" about myself nowadays but it's still a struggle. I'm a conflict-avoider.

I'd make sure the school actually does something. When I was in elementary/middle school, I was bullied a lot. No matter how many times my parents contacted the school or the bullies were sat down and "reasoned" with by school staff, it just never stopped. I ended up dealing with years of bullying at school simply because no one handled it properly. I really feel for your son :( Had lots of those "friends" who turned out to really not be so friendly.
My experience as well. Though high school was certainly better, as I did eventually make some friends, that were also bullied a lot, which made things easier to bear. Too bad they moved away, or I would have tried to stay in touch. The whole thing just sucks, but yes, I will be all over that school making sure it is taken care of. In general, his school is pretty proactive in regards to anti bullying, so I am pretty optimistic for now.

I think one of the biggest mistakes I made was keeping all of the problems to myself. It's a shame I can't look back on high school, the supposed 'best years of our lives', without thinking of depression.

As far as adult life goes, I haven't had to deal with it. But the fear of it happening was a reason I took a lonely career path.

For the pics I prefer the buildings no buildings. These images are so pixelated hard to tell at times if it is solar panels or not.

I'm glad you were able to make some friends who understood your pain, even if they ended up moving :) Sometimes friendship is one of the few things that can help people when they're in school. It's good too that the school is proactive with bullying. I think times are changing now. So many schools are invested in protecting their students from bullying of all kinds and that's really a good thing. Hopefully your school will nip it in the bud so your son can have a happy school life :)

I think this, too. I tried to champion through things myself and just ended up worse off. High school was a pretty depressing time for me as well. As an adult I focus on my own self development and have gotten over a lot of the crap that the bullying gave me over the years. It also helps never seeing those people again

In the "Discover a dimension to categorize a list (about 20 minutes)" HIT, I've entered a dimension, but it will not allow me to enter any dimensions. I've already refreshed the frame, and had eight cups of coffee. ?
