okay I snort laughed at this.

Edit: So did I. I was looking for a different one, but knew that one would achieve the giggle requirement.

Editedit: For anyone who needs a giggle and has a ridiculously strange sense of humor..

I looked into that fasting thing and it's supposed to be really helpful for autoimmune stuff, which I have. I think I'm going to try it. Some of the articles say I can just do under 500 calories instead of straight fasting. What do you think?
I've used fasting to help with health issues (gall bladder), for a good decade. I haven't been actively fasting for 5+ years though, as the main issue was resolved with surgery. Three family members had to have the same surgery, although because I modified my diet and fasted, my surgery took place about 7-10 years after theirs happened, chronologically (and perhaps, sheer luck).

There are a few types of fasts. For me, 36-48 hour fast works best, as I can manage life around it for a weekend. The first meal after fasting tastes soooo good. Your body is so happy to have food again

Studies show life extension can occur from mindful calorie reduction. It's a place many of us have a hard time contemplating, without going to extremes or compulsions (anorexia/bulimia).

Cool that you're thinking about it

Awesome!

I'll preface this with "I am not a doctor, or a scientist, or a biologist... or any type of expert that would have any sort of expertise in this area."

I originally tried the minimal calorie intake thing, thinking that I wouldn't be able to handle not eating for 2 days straight each week. I didn't find it to be as effective... I honestly believe the digestive tract needs time to be in an empty state so that it shuts down. I've done 2 30+ day fasts since I started... always feel amazing afterward... it feels like it just straight up resets my body. I get that same feeling when I fast for 2 days to a lesser degree... I don't get it when I do minimal calorie intake days.

I get the idea there was a distinction between the two reading some of those mouse/cancer studies... again I'm not an expert of any kind so my interpretation of their results and thoughts could be horrendously wrong... but some of the scientists seemed to think that when the digestive tract has time to earnestly shut down from having no input at all then the body diverts resources to healing and correcting errant cells that have mutated (cancer) among other things. That matches my experience of things, but not from an educated perspective, simply an experiential perspective.

I am now off other forum searching. I have done it for months on slow days but I cannot handle the "it is impossible to make more than $5 a day but I refuse any good advice repetitive post" and people being overall shitty to one another.. Here is just too much fun and work

Those were the type of posts I ran into before ever joining Mturk. On blog posts, and other work at home online outlets. I'm so glad I wasn't discouraged by those posts. I would have missed out on meeting great people, and earning potential.
I just don't get it. Why work for less than a dollar an hour an not bother to learn how to do the job properly?

I was raised Mormon so I used to fast for 24 hours once a month. Never done longer than that except for a juice fast. I might ease in with one day a week, I'll have to see how I do. It's hard because some of my meds hurt my stomach. I wonder if drinking some veggie juice when I take them would be okay.

Thank you for all the info. I'm really ready to try anything to improve my health.
