Yay glad you are here that's awesome! Congrats. Thanks for sharing.Checking in. Almost on to the second tri. Where the hell did the time go?? As as advice, willing to give it if asked. I don't really like giving unsolicited advice.
Yea I didn't think of that. I'll check that thread out too! ThanksMaybe some of the parents in the Turker Parents thread can come give advice.
I was told all that the first time around but honestly, I ignored a lot it after a while. I wouldn't have made it through the first tri w/o deli sandwiches. I suffered from Hypermesis Gravidarum (i.e., morning sickness on overkill) and it was one of the few things I was able to keep down toward the end of it. Never heard that about potatoes so I'm not sure on that. The tuna thing is about mercury risks but I had it here and there. The only thing I'd say I took "seriously" (for lack of a better term) was the caffeine limit. In the early months, especially if you end up struggling to keep food down, eat what you can.Yay glad you are here that's awesome! Congrats. Thanks for sharing.
Omg I think the hardest thing has been food items that are a no no. Like can't have too much tuna. No deli meats. Except for packaged. Potatoes are bad. Supposedly can cause gestational diabetes. Etc. Etc. Etc.
I'm a first time mom and I have no idea what I am doing. Any advice helps a lot. Feel free to share more along your journey!
That helps a lot I just learned something!I was told all that the first time around but honestly, I ignored a lot it after a while. I wouldn't have made it through the first tri w/o deli sandwiches. Ur awesome. TY. Doxylamine seems to help half a tablet in the morning and half at night. I stopped barfing. I think we may be due close to around the same time. I'm April
I don't know how I missed this I didn't see a notification...@<Gucci> How are you feeling today? Any recent doctors appointments?
No idea lol. I've felt a lot of them were lame too and never did any big fanfare for that. I have another ultrasound on Monday. My doc thinks it's a girl at the moment though. Not much nausea now so that's nice. Certain smells are still too much. I just bought some new shampoo and conditioner and the smell makes me gag, bleh. Oh yeah, I had some early braxton hicks this week. Not that much earlier than when I started feeling them during my first pregnancy. We've told individual family members so far so we'll likely go public on Facebook soon. I bought a "big sister" tee for the little one to announce it.I don't know how I missed this I didn't see a notification...
I go to the Dr next week.
Have any gender reveal ideas? A lot of Internet ones are lame. I like scratch off post cards to send to my family.
How are u. What's new with your little penguin. Feel free to pm me if any of this stuff is too personal....

Aww congrats! Glad you shared with us. My doc is allowing me to take some benadryl unisom and a little tiny bit of xanax on occasion. Benadryl and unisom help a bit with the sleep. If you even need anything or you are blue. Remember you have a forum mommy family. I'm just entering my second trimester. Weird stabbing pains from the uterus stretching I think, totally sucks. Just a few more weeks for you. That's very exciting!! Let me know what you name her & how the doc went..Checking in! 3rd trimester absolutely kicking my butt. Emotional wreck (Pregnancy is never going to be emotionally 'normal', but good god the depression and anxiety are killer this time), insomnia, weird stabbing pains when I walk around, surprise breech baby (who, fingers crossed, will hopefully have turned by herself at my 36 week appointment on tuesday!).
I just keep telling myself I'm almost done, which will bring it's own new host of issue, but at least I'll be able to breathe again and not have to pee every 10 minutes (this was one of the best immediate results of giving birth to 1st child. I could drink water AND wait a normal amount of time to pee - it was amazing).
Re: food restrictions, I was so crazy about it with my first pregnancy, to the point of drinking only decaf, never eating a runny egg, etc etc etc. This pregnancy I started out on decaf, but since emotional issues and insomnia set in I've needed a cup of coffee in the mornings just to feel human. Maybe it's having a two-year-old What they say about relaxing restrictions with the second is definitely true!
Thank you! :mallow It is really nice to be able to come on here and just see people going about their normal shenans - it's a nice distractionAww congrats! Glad you shared with us.
