Don't know about the drama because I've crossed a few off my list and I don't visit anymore. I just note that HitNotifier is bringing me very little from other forums.

I didn't mean loud. It's hard to explain. I don't know if you've ever listened to a good tube amp ... it's an entirely different, kind of all encompassing comfortable, warm sound.

No, unfortunately I'm missing the warm sound. But I don't enjoy my music any less. I enjoy music more for its content than the technology of my system.

I think some other forums just have different views on what HITs should be posted. We tend to like to post a lot of HITs, and I know some others tend to like to post only the best HITs. I don't think there's anything wrong with either way of doing things, but it may appear that we're better represented on HitNotifier because of the volume.

It's like the difference between earbuds and open-backed over-ear headphones. Less about about acoustic pressure and more about ambient wave reflection, and whatnot.
I'm with you. I still use these daily at about 22w.
