I believe that you can purchase those domains even if you don't live in those countries. So, I don't know why they would, but technically a US business could have that domain. Or, they may have it as a redirect to their main one in case they thought about expanding to that country.
That would be pretty weird for the used car dealers though. Like border countries, sure, but a random US used car dealer popping up in Australia?

I feel like Canada would be an exception, just because of the border. But statistically, I'd save the money and filter them out automatically and let an ad hoc correction be made, but I'm obviously not complaining about the free money. I work for a multinational, so, I also realize that most have not a single fuck to give about the pennies (and sometimes you lose your budget if you don't spend it, so spend all the things).
