So many surveys ask what my household income was when I was growing up.

Am I the only one who has no idea what their parents' incomes were? We discussed money often, ("No, Tricker, we can't afford that thing you want.") but I don't recall them ever telling me how much they made.

Maybe I need to ask my mom so I can have more accurate answers. I give my best guess based on what we could afford to do!

I basically just guessed and use that for all surveys that ask that. I have no clue what my dad earned (my mom was a stay at home mom).

I base it off what I remember hearing them say during tax time one year. All I know is it was around 120k combined while I was in high school, and they hadn't broken the 100k mark before that.

I know we had enough money, and I do know my mom used to get mad when my step dad would come home pulling a new boat behind his truck that he paid cash for from their savings without asking her.

Mom would be pissed, but my bro and I were all "YES! WE HAVE A NEW BOAT! WATER-SKI TIME!"

We weren't rich at all, but apparently they had enough to save up for boats.
