I'm so glad Amazon cleared up the confusion on how masters is granted by simply not giving it out anymore. Really helped clarify the situation.

It's pretty random, just had the social photo qual one random day 3 years ago. I only do around $2-5 worth of HITs a day too

I agree that it seems random, but we haven't proven anything. I also had the social photo qual one day, did those and got masters. But I think that's more that the social photo was a test. Maybe the social photo was a random qual and then how you did on those hits specifically was how you got masters. Maybe they change which hits it is each time (you know, before they just stopped altogether.)

But my main point was we haven't proven anything. Could be random, could not be. Who knows? (Not us.)
