Can i expect a shipment of heirloom tomatoes from you this coming season? I will gladly share my variety of peppers :blep:
I'm pretty excited this year... I picked up some Glass Gem corn to plant out in the garden and some Lunar White carrots to put into the aquaponic rig this year. Went a little nutty buying seeds because the dogs got into my seed stash from last year and ate most of the seeds I've been growing and saving for a long time.

I only buy heirloom and open-pollinated seeds. most of the seeds you can buy from other companies have been hybridized and they are much less stable in the second generation and beyond, plus they can often have all kinds traits bred into them like poor seed production or lowered germination rates to make sure you have to buy their seeds again next year
I hate this:
lowered germination rates to make sure you have to buy their seeds again next year

That's fun! I love buying new seeds. My grow season isn't usually long enough for corn. I can sometimes get a few ears. The corn we grow in this region is a bit smaller and sweeter. It also does well on ultra-flat land and full sun. Because we're pretty far North, the sun doesn't get entirely "overhead" for many days out of the year.

Also, what kind of fish in the Aquaponic? I wanted to try something other than tilapia. Not a fan. Maybe Black bass or trout/salmon.

mostly from these two sites: https://www.nativeseeds.org and http://www.seedsavers.org/

I also buy seeds from http://www.rareseeds.com... they have a lot of really fun varieties ive never seen before. I picked up some amish deer tongue lettuce and some ground cherry seeds from them this year, couple others I can't remember.
Thanks I'll have to check them out. Between trying to find a couple of things to send to my daughter in Calif. and, oddly, the hits here where you compare 2 things, I had no idea how many fruits and veggies I was completely unaware of and have been learning a lot. I wasn't aware of the difference in quality of seeds. Also I've been looking at greenhouses.

I do blue gill and crappie in mine because I have a fairly small tank for them.
Native seeds told me I can't go in there because I don't have a password. Rude.
oops... pull the s out of the https

Man, all of y'all growing your own food and I can barely microwave rice.
I am much better at researching than doing. I planted seeds in paper egg cartons last year, tons of them, the next morning they were spread all over my family room floor, thanks to my cat.

Oh don't feel bad. I lease out my corn fields but I have a garden that I try every year and tend to fail at every year.

I think Blue @Blue should talk to me through what I am doing wrong
