My stupid question of the day: How do you guys figure out your hourly wage. I am NOT very good at turking yet but I am doing better than I thought I would (I average $100 a week, Wednesday was the beginning of my sixth week, and I have over 5,000 approved hits) but I cannot figure out an hourly rate. If I had to guess I am somewhere around $2 an hour but usually this cute little guy, featured in my profile pic, is helping me type.

I just guess.

Otherwise hourly doesn't matter to me.
I go by goals, both daily and weekly.

Just keep track of it, use a stopwatch when you're turking and divide the hours by your pe. I just estimate though cause I don't really care and spend way too much time procrastinating/browsing reddit.

I love goals! My daily goal is so low I am ashamed to say it so I will whisper... $12.50. It seriously takes me ALL day to make that. My best day so far is $26.51 and it took me a good part of the day. I stink at this but I like it. My weekly goal is $87 and I have hit that every single week. I think its time to up the goals but I might cry if I don't hit them.

I got my first B my third year in college. When I say first I mean seriously the first one ever. I cried. I almost quit school over it. I knew I wouldn't have a perfect Bachelors degree so I felt I was wasting time. Thank goodness my children were watching. I dusted off and finished my degree. The degree I don't use. The degree that is useless but I finished. LOL

I second @Squatty . I don't worry about hourly rates unless I'm checking out a batch. For the most part, I find daily/weekly goals to be a much more accurate measurement, since task available can fluctuate so much.

You can also use a timekeeping app. When I practiced law I had to track my time spent on a matter down to the minute, so I had a timer I would click on/off whenever I started and stopped work on that billing code. I don't do it now, but that's one way to go if you want to track your turking productivity over a day/week.
