So the batches today dropped while I was away from my computer, but within a few minutes walk of it. Is there a way to monitor for specific HITs and then have it email/message you when they drop?

yes, I sometimes use hit monitor party edition. it will send you an email or text message if you set it up that way. you can get an audible alert on your phone or any other device from there.
