Since it isn't trademarked... anyone can rate their film with any number of Xs if they so choose... but because it has such a strong connotation with 70s porn most theaters and other venues will not book a film that has chosen to rate itself with an X. Many porn production companies don't use it anymore, some of the old school ones still do. None of the stuff I've been involved with bothered being that tacky.So does porn still do that? Like can I go look for X's if I don't feel particularly XXXy that day?
(I don't know how porn works. just throwing that out there.)
