someone here told me knit is tshirts, woven is men's work shirts that have button that they would wear under a suit jacket. not sure if that helps you.

edit: I'm not 100% sure that's what they said.

I think it's how they're made. I believe woven are more like @loki3404's avatar, and knit tend to be more stretchy.

also knit is usually stretchy. Woven usually isn't and stays wrinkled when wrinkled (like the button-ups mentioned before)
