I was thinking about when my son was born yesterday and my mom actually did this to me once.
I was a teenage mom and a first time mom, so I asked my mom to be in the hospital with me when my son was born. After he was born, my mom said she wanted to go smoke a cigarette and never came back. Ended up having to do everything by myself. I even dragged his little bed into the bathroom and locked the door ( I was paranoid someone would steal him) so I could take a shower. I guess it was good training for life, since I have had to do everything alone until I met my husband.

My mom is "interesting". A lot of it was because of a drug addiction. She is clean now thankfully.

But every time I think about my crazy childhood, I don't regret any of it. I wouldn't change a thing.

It made me who I am now. It taught me problem solving skills and perseverance. It made me strong.

Morning, y'all. Yesterday was weird and hectic and I fell asleep at 8 last night, but have been up since 11. What have I been doing until now? No clue; apparently just one giant hours-long fugue state. I have a vague memory of mindlessly eating shredded cheese by the handful, from the package, with the fridge open at some point. Good news is I've mostly popped back into reality and am ready to face jumping into whatever money pops up. (Please Baby Jeebus, let money pop up today..)
