So is this all some big social experiment to see just what people will do for a nickel? Too much waiting around, hoping to find something I can do. Maybe I am too picky.

I am hoping someone can answer this question. It does not really apply to this review but I will throw this in: yes this requester rejects for minor errors. I haven't done any of these HITs since I was too new to do anything else. Well maybe some here and there when it was really slow, but that's it. My question is, why did P9R and ScoutIt both raise their pay drastically at the same time. Did Amazon put a freeze on new accounts or something and they ran out of newbies? I am really confused about this. I'm thrilled with it and I have been happily doing P9R HITs but very confused. The most confusing part is that they both did it at the same time or very close to it.

just found this on scoutit's TO. the review is from april 24, 2017. are there no scoutit's because they raised the pay so people are for reals doing scoutit's now?

Sometimes some HITs actually ARE social experiments, trying to see what people will do for various pay amounts.

MTurk did a survey awhile back (several months ago) asking why people didn't do those types of HITs. I'm betting a ton of people said it was because of low pay. I honestly haven't looked at them in years so I haven't noticed if they've changed the pay. But if the survey said the reason was low pay, they may have decided to increase the pay as a result of that.

In addition, yes, it does sound like it's a lot harder to get a new account these days (lots of people are being denied, both American and non-American) so that probably does lower the worker pool of people willing to do them (which is typically newbies).
