OK. Any smart person know why a microphone permission box for chrome would appear on one PC but not another? I can do the Jamelio HITs on my laptop but my new desktop will not ask for permission for some reason?

you could go to 'this pc' after opening a folder. look for 'devices and printers'. find the audio things. make sure the headset you added is set as the default for audio and mic.
