Have you ever read Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock. Saw that on the Chuck website and any of my friends that start getting into chucks books I always recommend that one. Its on his level of just weirdness and grossness. Plus I like books with a bunch of short stories that kind of tie together somehow.
No, I haven't, but I'll have to check it out!

still get nervous before I have to go to my Wally World job, Been there 3 times now. Still new I guess, hope it gets better as time goes on. Hard being the new one and not knowing anyone and having to eat lunch by yourself.
I worked overnight at walmart for about two years.
I was one of the pickers in the back.

..

I hated when people sat at my lunch table. I read ebooks on my phone.
I guess it's slightly my fault since I always sat at the largest table.

I was also lucky that I live literally a 2 minute drive away, so the hour long lunch break was spent at home
- I only did the 15 min breaks in the breakroom

wouldn't mind the hour lunch if I could go home, but I live 19 miles away. I hate having an hour lunch, wish they would just let you choose if you want 1/2 hour or hour lunch, but I suppose be hard for cashiers since someone has to cover while you are gone. I think, or maybe not. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

no one covers cashiers for lunch
instead, they hire more people to stand at the end of the aisles, and all of them point customers to the only cashier.

mypaperheart @mypaperheart Even though you and I only talked sporadically over the last three years, I have followed you loyally both here and back at MTG. You are one of my oldest forum friends and such a wonderful and caring young lady. And since you're also from Southern California, you're automatically cool, too. I know that you don't have a mean bone in your body, and the kindness and generosity you share with us here is only the tip of the iceberg. You're such an amazing woman and I wish you the very best. :blueheart::blueheart::blueheart:
