The Stand is a pretty heavy book as an entry to Stephen King, the length and depth alone. I'd suggest something easier and newer of his first to kinda get a feel. Or, just look up adaptations and take the easy way out. His made for TV miniseries' and movies have always been a really good representation of his books as he always has his hand in them. The Stand was one of those adaptations back in the day with a young Rob Lowe, I always get sucked in when it's on Sci Fi channel.

I did like his book Bag Of Bones and I liked The Green Mile. Those are the only other two I can think of that I've read all the way through off the top of my head. My mom also recommends The Talisman, so I've been meaning to check that one out also. I took a break after The Stand fiasco, though, lol. :sweatsmile:
