Hi Dean,

Thanks for posting about your tasks here and looking for feedback. I did see these tasks available the other day but just eyeballing them let me know it would take too long do do each task for me to make it worth it. I just previewed another hit to give you some feedback and it looks like the article is roughly 630 words which takes around 3 minutes for an average person to read (according to some google-fu). On top of that, there is the selection time which may be where you get the 35 second average? However, that would make this HIT pay $.10 for 3.5 minutes of work. That's $1.71 per hour.

As @bxpretzel said, this isn't really worth it to those of us that would put in a full effort on the tasks.

I agree. I've looked these over a few times, and for me, it's not enough money for the task requested. I think it's good you're communicating with Mturk workers and asking for feedback. That is encouraging.

Which doesn't match what they claim on their instructions. That's crazy. You'd think you'd have been the only one to get the qual if everyone else was wrong. Finished mine this morning. I'm pretty certain of all of my information, so hopefully...

He says he doesn't have time to do his verifications, so he has his 'review team' do it.

there is just not really a rhyme or reason to why mturk gives out masters. you're excluding a lot of really good workers because amazon doesn't even know how mturk works.

That said, they are excluding a lot of bad workers as well. Just because it isn't know how/why masters is given out(and that there are good workers who do not have it) does not mean that the work given by regular workers matches masters. Talking about the overall work received not on an individual basis. Masters have something to fear which motivates a higher standard of work to be given(losing masters vs a rejection) and it does manage to weed out a lot of the scammy workers.

yeah sorry, these are way underpaid for the amount of reading and work required. if they were 15 cents i'd consider doing them, at 20 cents they'd be "worth it."

I dunno. I'm a master and whenever I hit a text box for typing an essay I usually just set my cat on the keyboard and see what he comes up with... or I just start licking the touch screen to select bubbles.

i'm not fussing. i don't try any harder now because i have masters. i tried hard before. nothing has changed for me since i got masters, so that's how i know that there are plenty of good workers who don't have masters.
