In the 60 years they were married, He never spent more than a day away from her and cherished her every breath. That's actually the only swear, in English, we ever heard him use. We just buried him.

Yup. It's funny because it's not said with malice or hurtful intent, over there. He never used 'see you in Toledo'. I just don't think it was used in the area where he learned English.
