I have that problem too. I want it to look sleeker.

My daughter's hair is really long; she's eight and has never had a haircut.
Her mother won't let me do it, obviously.

My kid is scared of the notion of getting it cut, too, even though I think it'd look cute (and more manageable) if it were slightly longer than shoulder length.
