Water tips for the uninitiated (poor things): Put freezer containers of tap water in every possible space in your freezer, or freezer space. Pack it in. This can keep a freezer full of meat cold for several days. When the power goes off--and it will, either during the storm or the electric company will turn it off later 'cause of flooding, downed wires, just to annoy you, etc.--unplug the freezer/fridge and put every blanket (preferably wool) that you own over it. Now if you see that the power will be off more than a couple days, consider all food will be lost. You have a pile of ice in an icebox. You can use this as a cooler at least awhile. And still you have drinking water, as well as ice. ....And the great BBQ is on. cook it all, if you can. Everyone will smell the goodies cooking and show up...don't forget to feed the dogs, too.
After hurricane Alicia, my mom BBQed for a week, including a delightful 2' smoked salmon. And her main freezer stayed cold for a week(but she always kept it packed solid with meat). My dad managed to find a chunk of dry ice to help the fridge along.
