Description: Dear participant, Thank you for your interest in our study. Please read the following information carefully. Purpose: This survey is designed to better understand how people view themselves from several perspectives. Procedure: In the first phase of the survey, you will be asked to focus on one person who you know relatively well: one who has a benevolent and accepting attitude towards you. You will be asked to write a brief description about this individual, focusing on hers/his values and the way she/he see other people. In the second phase of the survey, you will be presented with a series of traits, one at a time. In each trial, you will need to decide whether each trait describes you according to a specified perspective. For some of the time, you will be asked to assume a “self” perspective, this is to decide whether you believe that the specific trait describes you (or not). At other times, you will be asked to indicate what the person you identified as having a benevolent attitude towards you would say about you. In the third part of the survey, you will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires about your personal attitudes, relationships, and emotions. Some of these questionnaires may evoke some uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. The survey takes about 30 minutes to complete.
