went to the park to find the fawn. at least i expected only to find one, the little buck. he was there, gave him apples because he's not going to manage long on dried out clover. he was okay. then continued my walk and to my surprise I found the other fawn, the doe, over where I left the water last night. She was up, eating the dried out clover and even making the climb up the steep hill. her ears are not held upright yet but she looked so much better. some walkers told me that they saw her at the bucket of water last evening drinking. So, will refill the bucket today. going to find a good plastic jug, not glass, since it's a park i have to take this through, and leave them more water. there is a place in the fence where it looks like they've been crawling under to get to the pond. So, maybe i won't have to leave water much longer if she gets strong enough to crawl under that fence if that is what they are doing. neither can jump the fence yet i don't think. maybe the buck but they are so small right now. but it did feel good to find her up and around and not the worst as i feared.

got them watered and appled. i don't know if she ate any apples. She's not well yet. But the buck did and he took one out of my hand. Strange behavior for fawn that wouldn't even look twice at people a few weeks ago. best i can do for now. maybe this coming week i can find some park folks and ask them if there's anything that be fed them to help improve their outlook. I don't want to put deer food out there unless it's okay because don't want to bring in other animals. the apples don't stay long enough to attract even an ant.
