When you move and sell all of your fish but can't stomach the though of nearly giving away fish tanks that you spent, literally, thousands on, so you build a shed and nail the door shut, waiting for the day when they finally mine the last nugget of glass. Then you can cash in your hoard and live like a king.

Dude, I have a 40 gallon brand new tank in a storage space that I keep telling myself I'll set up when I move to a bigger place. It's never gonna happen but I just can't part with it...

Dude, I have a 40 gallon brand new tank in a storage space that I keep telling myself I'll set up when I move to a bigger place. It's never gonna happen but I just can't part with it...

My 3/4" 160gal curved-front, with matching wrought iron stand is so nice that I just can't bear to part with it for nothing! I used to have a butterfly, 3 plecos, 2 spotted raphaels, 2 oscars and a red tail in that thing and it was awesome!

Keeping fish. You set up aquariums in your house and it's never enough tanks because there's always new species you want, and you drop a ton of money in equipment and a ton of time in maintenance, and when you tell people about your hobby their eyes glaze over and they go to sleep.

It's when you spend hundreds on antibiotics, still treating the fish when they are swimming with only one fin, upside down, but you don't want to wack them over the head or put them in the freezer, so you wait and watch. And then, instead of getting rid of the tank, look at that last lonely fish - and decide to get them a friend because who wants to live alone?
And then, in a few weeks, that whole ick/antibiotic things starts over.
