Lessons that I have learned volunteering at the food bank (at least our local one).
People can take a TON of food. OMG. When my daughter and I were food insecure, we couldn't qualify for food stamps (they said I made too much), so we just got creative. If we had access to this........you can take as much fruit and vegetables as you want. And as much pasta, milk, and a list of other things. They even had specialty coffee (macadamia nut and vanilla coffee). I'm just..........stunned. The homeless can come in any day they are open (3x's a week) and take whatever they want.

It was really generous.
