if they use a hair straightener or curling iron or video game system, etc., go buy those little samsonite travel locks and put one through the prong of what ever power cord they use something for, and don't unlock it until whenever you decide. It works great.

My daughter ripped a handful of paper out of a 100 year old copy of Alice in Wonderland I had. I cried so hard about that and I was so angry at myself for not taking better care of it. Ugh. ouch! My daughter has gotten into some of my old sheet music books and some special older picture books I had for my son... their little gleeful faces while they crumple and rip are so cute as you're running over there going "ahhhhh!!!! don't do it!!!!"
I will do this. It was my favorite perfume and it is DC'd so I have to search high and low for it. Guess I'll be wearing Vera Wang Princess (UCK) it was a gift!
