I hear variations of "im ugly" or "i have rbf" or "nobody wants to look at me" two dozen times or more each day that I volunteer. I've never had anyone repeat it when I returned with their portraits.

People are usually their own worst critics, wouldn't you say? It is hard to evaluate one's own looks, though. It easy to focus on the flaws or perceived flaws.
