Have you rebooted both? One at a time, I'd start with the modem first and then see. You can also see if your provider will ping your box.

I'm pretty sure it's the router because nothing will work and the internet goes through the router first. Gonna put Merlin firmware on it & see if that makes a difference.

I don't use it for that either but if you click the wrench next to a requester's name, you can add them to an include list.
