No, you're definitely not the only one to be confused by it. It seems to happen to pretty much everybody that isn't already familiar with it.

An option might be to send them a message explaining all the tools and how to disable them. It isn't as nice as being able to turn it off by default, but it might help alleviate some of the problems.

That's a good idea. I wonder if there's a way to automate something like that. Thank you, I'll have to look into it.
