When I first did John Doe they didn't seem to edgy to me. Now they've acquired an edge. is that supposed to make me suspicious about the video? i don't want to mark something unfairly because it bother me when we don't have the whole picture.

When I was doing those a few months ago, I don't recall having more than maybe one that was "edgy." Don't concern yourself with "the whole picture": he wants that segment graded. Just do that with dedication and you'll be peach-perfect, no worries.
