There's a few types of high-PE posters:

Some post b/c if you do good, you want to say it!
Some want to motivate/feel it's a team activity/community, still a positive reason to post.
Some want to be mentors, and mentoring improves your own game and feels good.
Some want to brag and be called out to argue.
Some, I'm convinced, are involved with forums/mTurk/RQSTRS somehow, as motivation.
Some are just plain lying.

Don't compare yourself to others, but by all means sometimes feed the trolls (a bare hook).

I don't think it is bad for anyone to share who feels like doing so. I always thought of it as a gauge or range. I simply quit because I feel like a colossal failure, 12 hours and barely 8$. I certainly don't begrudge the person who has the insight and knowhow to get her done. I wish I had what it took. I know I am told to learn to script, but script what? See, I come from the land of old folk, I know there is something behind the veil I don't see, and that is alrigh, I wait like a spider for a fly to land and I nab what I can, I feed off it for a while and try to catch some more, information that is. I don't make any sense it's ambien time.
