Stealing the quote box for my planner now. Beautiful work!
I originally used that for random stuff I needed to do throughout the week but didn't have a specified time to do it, but I didn't really use that. this is more useful :)

I'm showing my knitting project page at Ravelry, although some members here have already seen it. They're in rough chronological order with the newest at the top. Just mailed the slip-stitch hat in the top picture, and my friend loves it. Clicking on any photo will produce the detail page and more photos.

I love all of these! Especially the steering wheel cover!

There are thousands of groups where you can ask for help. There's a pattern database where you can see comments of other people who have done the pattern before you. There's a yarn database for the same.

Oh Interesting! I should definitely get on that then! Thanks!

Jan--
You might want to go over the history just briefly because the kids are very eager to start learning. How many teens do you know who love reading about any history? Maybe offer some books if they're interested for their spare time, between staring at their cell phones and watching TV. I think in a class, I would give a brief history with illustrations.

If you're a member of Ravelry, there are groups there for teens, teachers, knitting history, beginners, whatever, where you can get advice.

I generally look up yarns that are new to me before buying, and look for comments on patterns. I've occasionally written to the designer asking for a clarification or noting an omission. I also belong to a variety of groups: Monstersocks, Kool-Aid Dyeing, Sales, Swaps, Patterns, Techniques, etc. One or 2 groups just for socializing.

So the company I work for makes filters, when we have scraps that we cant use we use them for our art company. I have basically been given full run of it and I'm so excited because it lets me use a little bit of my creative brain.

That sounds interesting. How are you using the scraps to make art?

They're beautiful. What are those multi-colored materials? Some kind of plastic?

I hang out a lot on Ravelry as Katzknitter. You can catch me there.
