Yep my mturk account says I’m in Florida.
I turk on hotel WiFi’s airports
You name it. 0 problems

Very nice, I'm approaching 29 and feel like my life has been passing me by this past decade. I'd like to travel while turking to keep up with bills.

I think the problem is when you travel outside the US (or whatever country you are registered in).

yes, I spend most of the summer in Myrtle Beach and worked from down there no problems

It could be, if you're doing a survey that says they only want people physically in the US at the moment and you're not, or something like that. A requester could reject you if you're in Spain but telling them you're in the US and they catch it with your IP.

Even that seems to be sort of a gray area. I actually can't even find anything about it in the current participation agreement (I thought there was something about it in the old one.) Many people have turked while on vacation in other countries though without issue. I'm sure it's probably fine unless you're like living in another country while using a US account.

There was some unclear stuff related to tax status in the old participation agreement but that was all removed when they updated it last year.

Yeah, it looks like they just don't want people with non-US accounts turking in the US.

One of the voice command hits always demands that you be currently physically present in the state you registered with. I haven't seen that requirement elsewhere though. I don't think I've ever seen it for country.

@jan Did you ever get any further with the " additional steps to complete your mturk account" situation? It's been happening A LOT lately

I'm not sure. I just looked at the settings. You're still in that usergroup, but the code for the icon is gone.
