Re: Tej. All of the ones I have submitted have approved now. As
@SweetiePuff and others have said, do what makes you the most comfortable. There is a reason for that old saying, it's better to err on the side of caution. If something makes you uncomfortable, and something like your livelihood or side income is at stake, it truly is often best to play it safe. Things on MTurk can often be vague, but regardless of right/wrong, more power lays in the hands of AMT and the requesters than in the individual hands of any one worker.
That being said, for the website HITs, I used my computer to handle the HIT/survey, and manually loaded the links with my iPhone, took screenshots on my iPhone, and uploaded them via my computer to the HIT interface.
For the App HITs, I used an old android phone, that is damaged nearly beyond usability. I simply control the phone and view the screen remotely on my computer, with an SSH connection, allowing me to use the android phone, and complete the HITs, while using a computer to control and view the phone.
In my opinion, with at least the App hits, if not the websites as well,
they are probably looking to test functionality on Android (Google) devices, as this is a Google requester after all.
So, in the future, I will be going the route of using my damaged android phone connected to my computer via SSH. This seems to satisfy what they are looking for in the end, which is the HIT and tasks to be completed using an android phone. I'm feeling like for whatever reason, they won't be rejecting for iPhone users on the website HITs, but I'm going to be playing it on the safe side from now, where I do have a viable way to do these on an Android device.
