I used to run more, play tennis, dance, etc, but I really did a number on my knees and I've never been outdoorsy. Tennis is technically outdoors, but it's a prissy kinda outdoors I can get with. Despite falling nonstop (I broke my knee pads last week when I wiped out going downhill in my skates), I'm actually enjoying most of the outdoorsy hobbies- except hiking, good for you man! I can't make myself like it most of the time. I do walk trails that have a lot of elevation changes with the dogs, which is nice. I've gotten to the point where I've done 8.72 miles this week between skating/walking/biking and I feel like I'm slacking off and wanna do another 2-6 this weekend.

High five for trying new things man! I have some crazy social anxiety and was mortified of trying new things where people could see me and now I skate around town in knee socks and don't even care when the mean teenagers make fun of me! (ok, mostly don't care)
I really need to get back into skating! I grew up spending 3-4 nights at the local roller skating rink. It closed, along with the other one in town, so I haven't been in ages. Hiking is something I never saw myself doing, yet in the past couple of years, I've hiked more than half of the mountains on Mount Desert Island. Nothing crazy yet, but some day I'd like to do the Appalachian trail, in part or whole!

Thanks for the motivation  I deal with anxiety quite a bit myself too. Also, I found out at the orthopedic center today, that I'm likely going to have to have arthroscopic surgery on my right knee next week. I'm one of those "I'll just go through life without ever having surgery" type of people, so I'm a bit freaked out. I've been in and out of hospitals and DO offices throughout my life, with stomach and pain issues, but this is new for me. But after reading your post, I'm a little more hopeful that this might just be a slight bump in the road for me.

Yes, Fort Smith.I grew up just over the border in Oklahoma.

How cool! I never paid much attention to college football and ect until I married him. I didn't realize how serious people were about it.
