All right, then. See you all back here again in a few weeks for the next mass rejection that gets reversed an hour later!

mass rejections don't always get overturned though

Hey, it only happens because we are willing to blow up their emails and threaten to go to their supervisors/IRB. It shows that for all of those workers ::coughcoughmecoughcough:: that always screw the other workers on "decision" HITs, we can, in fact, work together for the greater good.

Someone requester should do a HIT about that. Set it up specially to reject everyone, and see how many email about it in a group form.
Oh, I don't doubt that and I'm sure a lot of it is educating requesters. But you can educate requesters by sending an informative, helpful email and wait for a reasonable response or you can go threaten requesters and bring the pitchforks and get your blood pressure up and whatnot. If you want a requester to have a decent experience and continue to bring more work back to the platform and tell their coworkers to bring their work to the platform, one of those two routes is going to be more successful than the other.

Y'know ... as a personal aside, noone truly knows what's going on in that requesters life right now. How people are so quick to rush to judgment (blowin' up emails, threatening, being rude, etc) when this could have been a completely innocent mistake on the requesters end.

This is a great example how the "(m)asses" also push good requesters who pay decently right off of this platform.

I've never threatened a requester. Even the one who stole data and gave me the 1 rejection I have. I nicely emailed twice, left a review, and let it go. What else you gonna do.

who said the people who got rejected today were being rude to the requester?

That's good! Unfortunately, some people do. I've seen some horrific emails that workers have sent requesters. It's really awful sometimes.

Oh lord, there are some awful people that respond to rejections.

edit: On that note I'm gonna go color and pretend mturk doesn't exist.

I got hostile once.
And it was because of a lack of adequate warnings on an already underpaid study. I can't imagine being angry much more than that....I've emailed a LOT of requesters about lots of things... One sort of mean email (I was mostly just firm anyway...) is the worst I can imagine doing. I'm so sorry.

What bothers me is that most of those angry workers never take the time to consider if THEY did something wrong. It's always "they rejected me, avoid" instead of "maybe I didn't read the instructions carefully enough" or "maybe I missed an AC". I truly feel sorry for most requesters.

They shouldn't be expected to pay for low quality work. I sure wouldn't.

I can't imagine doing that. I just assumed that was a straight ticket outta mturk world. I treat requesters as I would treat an employer. Essentially, that is what they are to a degree.

I've been working a hit and don't know if you all saw this:

FAST:

5 / 5

PAY:

5 / 5

COMM:

NO DATA

Rejection reversed with no communication back. Ended up being a pretty good hit with that little hiccup.

When I see someone on TO saying they were rejected for missing an AC but they say, "I didn't miss any ACs, I saw them all and answered them right", I want to say, "You know that's how it works, right? You don't see the ones you miss."

Not to mention if anyone has ever done any review HITs, we've seen the trash that gets submitted.
