Let's discuss crappy business practices, yesterday I take my 2 cars for inspection, 2006 BMW 525 XI, 2010 Kia Soul.

They pass my BMW no questions asked then proceed to fail my Kia. Now here's the kicker I know the horn doesn't work all the time and that can fail an inspection had the guy just told me that, fine. Nope they add other things to it that I know are not true. Like "your left front tire has coil showing" of course that coil magical is showing on the sidewall of the inside of the tire that I can't see. And somehow I need a new ball joint even though within the last 6 months that part of my car was looked at by a guy who told me I need new bearings soon..uh huh.

So I get the car home, me and my son both crawl under the damn car in the rain...there is no fucking coil showing on my tire at all. I was already pissed thinking they lied to me but now I'm even more pissed. Nothing pisses me off more than these shops who just want to price gouge because they have no reason to pass you. For example dude wanted to charge me 150 for my horn to install a "push button" and I was like it's the clockring it's a 40 dollar part and he's just like "we don't do it that way". He's lucky I didn't lose it and cuss him out because I already felt they were being dishonest.

Now here is the kicker as to why I feel like this happened, 1 I shouldn't have let them look at my BMW with it since I think that made them think I have money. Secondly my Kia was driven there by my pregnant daughter so they probably thought it was her car and they could "fuck with dad" thinking I'd just pay it cause it's my kid. Of course they won't fail the Bimmer cause guess what, they know I won't let them fix that.

So in short I'm given a quote for 400 dollars to fix my second car that is driven maybe 3 times a week if an errand has to be ran, it's just a fuckin joke. The last dude who doesn't seem to do inspections anymore basically told me "your horn is a bit finnicky but I'll pass it because no big deal". These guys tried to charge me for shit I didn't even need.

So now I have to get another inspection by the end of the month and hope I don't get some shop trying to make a buck off me.
