It's pretty easy to explain: You're a temp. A lot of this is the same kind of work that temp agencies would give. Temp agencies have become less tenable given how much they charge and how much they take from the worker. It's just temping in the 21st century.

And I was telling my mom about it and she's like- that's actually a good idea, and I've been like... researching and making plans and lists and ordering things I need bit-by-bit.
Maybe I'll not be a worthless lump this year.
