my kid wanted to know how much spanish I knew, and where duolingo app would place me on the spanish course.
it only gave me 2 crowns on every lesson, because it said I was wrong when I believe I was right.

(instead of exposa for wife, it said la mujer del tomas was the correct selection)
(instead of hijos for children, it wanted hijas, despite no gender being specified)

it also depends on the type of spanish your learned, I know central america spanish pretty good, there are differences

while I understand what you're saying, if exposa is an option when asking for the word "wife" it shouldn't tell me that "tomas' woman" was the right answer

There's a place you can enter in corrections, or you can read the comments and see that other people agreed with you. I was mostly annoyed that it caps around 70% instead of 100%.

the mobile app lets you tap the error, and input why you disagree.
it turns off swype from the mobile keyboard though, which is annoying.
I didn't see any % of other people's responses at all

I haven't used the site, because I only just downloaded it at her request
however, I think I'm going to try to use it to learn some japanese

Same. They're pretty clear about seeing a human doing the action. Tho puppets seems like a dumb category since, by nature, we won't see the human.

Depends on the angle of the video taken. Could be back stage or off to the side where you might see part of the person, otherwise it seems to me that I don't see the human - could be robot behind the couch. Mine plays around like that all the time.
