Scripted, I thought you can get does up to 9/hour can't you? never even bothered to try.
I have no idea, I wasn't talking about that batch in particular. Just the thought process behind that post.

There are market principles that make that statement untrue. Also, define "awful", though. Personally, I thought Jeffry Du's were awful and I couldn't do them fast enough to make any reasonable money at them, but apparently some people are really fast and were making like 8/hr. With a script John Does are above minimum wage which is more than you can say for most anything on Turk. Not to mention most surveys are little more than 6/hr BY DESIGN, and you have to wait to catch them, but people seem to think this is adequate.
Scripts can't help you watch videos faster. Which makes the pay cap of those HITs relatively low for people honestly trying to submit quality work (RIP Virals.)

I feel like I should be paying John Doe for the awesome weird videos.

Never done john does before. I'm guess there's a cap and that's why these haven't been slurped up in seconds? Just wondering in case I want to put them down to do something else.
I gather from watching the number of Doe HITs go increase constantly while I and other worked them, that he's adding HITs continually.

even at the absolute worst end of the spectrum as somebody in the US.

you are better off using any time spent on 5/hour focused work figuring out how to do better for yourself.

not to mention the damage

is causing to the platform.

Scripted, I thought you can get does up to 9/hour can't you? never even bothered to try.
Definitely doing better than 5/hr, though.. Also, Spent the last three days working at about 20/hr so slumming it isn't hurting me at this point. And if you're time is so valuable, why are you wasting it arguing with me? My point is, I can't stomach another god damn survey no matter how good it is (and it's usually 6/hr when you factor in the wait time, broken or already completed surveys--seriously, I keep asking why surveys get a pass).

There's a smiley/emoji/whatever called survey's suck somewhere around here. I don't think they get a pass. But most people consider each survey its own thing. So sure you get some broken ones but SurveyX was 3 minutes for $1.50 so I'm okay with that.

I lost my train of thought for this discussion. I'm now thinking about caramel swirl ice cream.

I don't endorse cheating. Look, I'm probably going to give up on these and do something unproductive. But I do fundamentally disagree with the notion that doing those hits pushes down prices. If you know anything about economics and labor, low pay has more to do with the size of the worker pool. The larger mturk gets, the more wages drop. And there ain't nothing I can do about that.

That wasn't at you, it was a response to something Tsolo said.

MTurk has such high turnover that it's not like the worker pool is growing without any loss on the other side.
