Since so many folks were crushing on Liz Fraser and TMC and other 4ad artists yesterday, it seemed like a great time to make a daily thread with this theme 4AD is a legendary, highly influential pop/rock/experimental music label that just keeps on keepin' on almost 40 (!) years later. Notable not just in terms of musical influence, the label also signed a ton of woman-led bands and indie women musicians when it was not that common or accepted to do so.
I've put a few personal favorites up here but listen, no matter what you do today, take the time to listen to at least a few minutes of new and/or old 4AD releases. Some of the best music of the last few decades was released on this label. A historical list of artists is here and a current list of artists is here.
First USA hit
Most excellent album track
Divine noise
The rhythms
Timely title
