I don't know if people in my area are just cranky, but I constantly hear people complain about self-checkout. Like they're offended at the mere suggestion that they should have to do something themselves. "I pay for these people's wages when I buy my groceries - why should I have to check myself out?" Like the bagger getting paid $7.25 an hour is trying to pull a Tom Sawyer on them.
I like self-checkout because I don't have to make eye contact with anyone when I buy five bags of Oreos at once.
