It really doesn't matter what age you start... it's all arbitrary.
I'm unattractive, shy, and frankly, a pretty shit person personality-wise, and I still lost mine at an age that's considered young by some, and old by others... (all my friends were 14-16...) things just happen. That poor dude shouldn't care about it so much, but it also doesn't matter that he's holding on to his.

Yeah, I was very young but I was shocked by his reaction, and I don't get why he cares so much.
