As @coffeeowl mentioned, it's probably because people have a lot of HITs to pick from during peak hours (at least, a lot compared to evening hours when it's pretty slim pickings).

In my experience, some turkers may avoid these type of HITs because you can not accurately gauge the time it will take to complete the HIT while being dependent on someone else. Many turkers will work on a HIT that's a "sure thing" ($X.xx for X/min of work) when they are available.

The speed at which the hits are taken seems to be slower than at other times I posted. This is my first time posting in the morning hours.

yeah there's work that's similar type of work (working with language) similar in pay to yours for less effort up right now.

if I was them and I did that type of work, I would continue to do those.

might just take longer to get your responses, nothing more you can do short of promoting your task or increasing the pay if your need for data is that urgent.
