It's not up to me who uses what technology. That being said, I still don't care if the PD uses software to compare my face to booking photos or pictures of missing women. Are you going to get upset if you get pulled over and the cop can see your entire criminal/driving record/license picture? As soon as an S-ID number comes across the radio, your information is all over the screens at the PD. It immediately tells the officer what the risks are to the public and to the officer him/herself. I don't know how the software would work, but if anything, I'm guessing it's less invasive than having your name searched by a dispatcher. With the software, I assume it's computers doing the comparing and IF something were to pop up, then a person would look at it.
"It's not up to me who uses what technology."

How is it not? Do we not have the power to elect those in power? This is a dangerous train of thought.

"That being said, I still don't care if the PD uses software to compare my face to booking photos or pictures of missing women."

You may not, but others may. Just because they claim it will only be used for such uses does not mean it will happen. It's a slippery slope. How do you feel about the NSA sharing nude pictures of women (https://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/21/...sa-sexually-explicit-photos-often-shared.html) when they originally claim it will be used to "stop terrorism"? Whether you want to believe Snowden's claims or not, the NSA has not once stopped a large scale terrorist attack (https://theintercept.com/2015/11/17...e-terror-attacks-regardless-of-snowden-leaks/).

"Are you going to get upset if you get pulled over and the cop can see your entire criminal/driving record/license picture?"

If I was pulled over, I would assume I have committed a crime. If in fact I have, then sure they can pull up my data and I won't get upset. Why should the government be allowed to continuously view my habits and run me through a search if I have not committed any crimes? This already goes on with license plate readers that many officers already have on their cars.

"The information captured by the readers – including the license plate number, and the date, time, and location of every scan – is being collected and sometimes pooled into regional sharing systems. As a result, enormous databases of innocent motorists’ location information are growing rapidly. This information is often retained for years or even indefinitely, with few or no restrictions to protect privacy rights."

It's the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams. The first is The Dragonbone Chair, second is Stone of Farewell. I have about 300 pages left of the second one :(
I am going to have to read this, thanks for posting.
I am currently in the middle of Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. I am finding it hard to turk because all I want to do is read.

I did 25 of the A9's so far and am paranoid that they are all going to get rejected and jack up my approval rating. -_- I wish I had the fortitude to take the jump to do tons of batch work.
