Jesus christ, I finally told my computer to go ahead and restart to update cause it has been bugging me for 3 days and now I've been sitting here for 25 minutes and it's only at 30%. I could have installed windows from scratch in that time.

If it's anything like the ones I did with mine and my son's recently, it will take a ginormous jump all at once, reboot like four times, then be done.

However. We both had issues logging in after the updates and had to reboot 2 more times on our own.

Took about 45 minutes, total, with both reboots.

Just let it do it when you go to bed and set it to restart after updating. It'll be 85% done when you wake up.

It's another one of their big feature updates, which gives you a bunch of features that you never wanted in the first place (Timeline? Really?) My laptop took like 45 minutes to update yesterday (which has an SSD, @A6_Foul_Out ). I guess I should be glad that it at least works. These big updates usually tend to break stuff for me.

Hey all, jumping off a conference call. Dunno how many hockey fans are still around this late on a holiday weekend Friday, but we want to at least see if we can get 20 hockey fans on for a quick 10-minute stanley cup finals swarm. Will probably launch the hit around 4pm ET today, and run the swarm around 5pm ET.

I like hockey but I don't think I got that qual.

Completely broke my kid's computer. He literally could not log in under his credentials. It was a "known" issue when I looked it up.

However, I could log in under my administrator credentials, so I just logged in, switched his user account to an administrator, and all is fixed now. That means, tho, that he can now install whatever he wants without my approval but...oh well.
