I played when I was a teenager...never really got good, but remember getting callouses and it being a bitch at first.

yeah you have to work thru the pain and get those callouses to be able to play the guitar, but after you do and get used to them, playing is so much easier then

It's true. i used to play with friends quite a bit in my 20s and I always had a lot of fun. I got away from it for far too long, though, and I haven't had people to play with since I moved out here. I bought a telecaster last summer, though, and have been having a lot of fun basically learning all over again with it. But yeah, there's only so much I can do on my own.

and i used to have others that we played together, but they are no longer around and i kinda got out of playing, but now I am re-learning as well

Nice. My very first guitar was a cheap Squier Strat. I think I got it when I was about 14. I really liked it, but I ended up having to pawn it years later when I was hurting for cash.

I had one too, and for a cheaply made Fender copy it played well and was heavy and very sturdy. as I had dropped it many times and it kept on goin.
