Because that's what's doing it.

Of course using a script to find HITs is more effective so you kinda just have to deal with it and adjust when you want to look at the marketplace itself.

Oh dang you're right, it is part of a script. I just assumed it was part of the site now. Good to know, thanks. I haven't turked in almost two years so I just added a bunch of scripts that people recommended. Plus I keep falsely blaming any weirdness on the new site since I keep staring at it and thinking "what is this place, this isn't mturk" even though it obviously is.
