Theres a huge difference between unburnt tobacco and burnt tobacco...the unburnt stuff smells sooooo sweet. If you've ever been around someone that smokes a pipe you would know. Also walking into a good cigar shop(not one where people are smoking) Its kind of hard to describe the sweetness.

It's true. I really love the smell of tobacco. Even burning pipe tobacco smells good to me. I think cigarettes just ruin it because you're also getting the smell of the burning paper, not to mention the tobacco is so dried out that it has lost much of its characteristic smell.

Didn't a joke candle scent HIT pop up earlier today? I was thinking "someone microwaved fish at work" or burning tires as good scents.

Yankee Candle did some "man" scents a few years back. One of them was Bacon....it smelled like dog barf thats been sitting in someones super hot car. terrible decision...think of the way the dog treats beggin strips smells like...no imagine your dog throwing up a bag of it in your car and then forgetting about it all day.

So true. My (then) 13 year old made about $800 last year selling scarves he made. That was just in one crafts show and one half day in front of our house with a table set up.

He could make more if he worked on them year round, lol. Or branched out into hats/slippers/other loom knitted goods.

(also, in the land of people will buy anything, the scarves that sold out first were the "mini" scarves that he made using yarn that didn't have enough left for a full scarf. We labeled them as "mini/pet/baby" scarves and more than one person bought some for their dogs. We did not expect the mini scarves to sell out so quickly!)

I've always wanted to make crafts and sell them, but I have NO IDEA what to try to make. I'm just...not good enough at any craft to be able to make money off it.

ok i'll admit, sometimes when i'm at my weekend customer service job, I'll sniff the blueberry and grape black n milds, but its for the fruity smell!

So if you aren't just sticking to the movie franchise, since Friday the 13ths are notorious for things going wrong, you could have everything go wrong. Like a totally screwed up cake (maybe make it look like you dropped it?), a "dribble" ladle for punch bowl (get a cheap one, poke a hole in it), torn up paper plates, fake torn up curtains (tissue paper), fake stains on the carpet (use chalk to color in), fake broken windows (https://www.halloweenforum.com/hall...lp-making-glass-look-broken-2.html#post829504), dead plants in pots (always easy to find), etc. Not necessarily haunted house-y, just anything that can go wrong without actually going wrong.

I would pick something you enjoy doing and get better at that first, before trying making-selling. Most markets are already saturated, leading prices to trend downwards. From my own experience selling yarny stuff, too few people value the time it takes to source and make quality handmade goods. The only sustainable segment of that market is the high end IMO.
